Everything about Hickory Records totally explained

Hickory Records was a United States record label run by Acuff-Rose Music from 1954(External Link) to the late 1970s. Based in Nashville, it was an independent label throughout its entire run, but went through several distributors. From its inception in 1955 to 1973, Hickory was distributed independently. MGM then distributed the label in 1973, then ABC Records distributed it four years later. The Hickory label was discontinued and its catalog pulled before ABC merged with MCA in 1979. The entire Hickory output is now owned by Sony/ATV Music Publishing which owns the Acuff-Rose catalogue and revived the Hickory label in 2007 with an album by Elliott Yamin.(External Link)
